However, If you are reading to your kids, I would suggest avoiding one of the stories. This can be a bedtime-stories book that you can read out to your kids. It is a book for adults, and it is a book for children. You can read this if you want to understand the Lepcha culture or if you want to just enjoy fairy-tale-like stories. The author does a good job of briefly explaining how various festivals celebrated by the Lepchas trace their roots in various myths and legends. Consequently, as we advance through the book, we get a good sense of the Lepcha culture as it exists today. Subsequent few stories are about the origins of Lepcha traditions and festivals. The second story is about how they confronted the demon king, killed him, and established the ten Lepcha clans. For example, the first story in the book is about the origins of the Lepchas. Each story is independent, but the author has also managed to maintain a loose connection and flow between the stories. The stories are short and well written in simple yet engaging language.
